Student dances to death at marriage ceremony

A marriage ceremony that had started with pomp and merrymaking last weekend in Kelim village, Serere District, ended in sorrow after a Senior Three student, who is said to have gatecrashed the occasion, dropped dead.

Sam Ejanyu, 22, a student at Kyere SS, brought the function at Mr Charles Ekaju’s home to a standstill after he died instantly while trying an acrobatic feat. He reportedly landed his dead on the floor and broke his spinal code. The East Kyoga region police spokesperson, Mr Michael Odongo, said though police had preferred a postmortem, the deceased’s parents and relatives saw no need for it because the circumstances under which the boy died were clear.
