Kekemeke’s sack, a step in right direction – Ondo APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has described the purported suspension of its chairman; Isaac Kekemeke, as a right step in a right direction.

In a statement signed by APC’s Director of Media and Publicity in the state, Steve Otaloro, the Party’s State Executive Council (SEC) said the suspension of Kekemeke will bring peace to its fold.

It could be recalled that the Executive Councils from local to state levels penultimate week passed a vote of no confidence on Kekemeke and also sacked him over allegations that he obstinately continued to use his office and the apparatus of the party across the state to misinform and misdirect some party faithful towards the achievement of his sinister motives.

Subsequently, the SEC appointed a three-man fact-finding disciplinary committee to investigate the embattled chairman.

The committee also appointed the Deputy Chairman of the party, Mr. Ade Adetimehin as the chairman of the party in acting capacity, pending the outcome of the report of the committee.

The statement reads in part: “a flurry of activities is expected to burst forth in the party secretariat immediately as the party has been in the comatose for too long shortly before the governorship primary election of the party last year.
“While party members will wait for the outcome of the three-member disciplinary committee, it is however incontrovertible that the party and members were denied their deserved joy and celebration of victory of the last governorship election due to the inactivities of the party leadership and the failure of the suspended chairman to call for meeting of the SEC and the State Working Committee SWC for a long time owing to leadership impasse in the state chapter.

“With the unanimous appointment of Ade Adetimehin by the State Exco as Acting Chairman of APC Ondo State chapter, a new lease of life is assured for all members of the party who have long been sidelined in party activities.”

However, Kekemeke has said he was still the chairman party, saying his call for removal was the handiwork of some of his detractors in the party.

He said, “Honestly some of those guys who am told are acting this shameful script can never imagine how happy, peaceful and mentally relieving I should feel, being free from having to deal or associate with them as members of my team.”
