AFCON qualifier: Why Gernot Rohr did not invite Victor Moses for South Africa game

The reason for exclusion of Chelsea star, Victor Moses from the 24 man list released by Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr to tackle the Bafana Bafana of South Africa has been revealed.

Moses was left out of the all important African Cup of Nations qualifying encounter billed for Uyo on June 10.

Moses was the shock exclusion due to his fine form for Chelsea ‎in the just concluded season in England.

But one of the team’s official told Own Goal that Moses’ exclusion was the decision of the coach, plus the fact that the player, who just wedded, is also set to undergo surgery.

“Rohr has picked those he believes will get the job done given the time spent together in Corsica and Paris. Some other players will step up to the challenge and the Super Eagles will be better for it.

“Aside that, Victor Moses is out owing to medical reasons. He will be having surgery on his toe in the coming weeks,” the official said.
